Terrence Stevens’ story is a triumphant one. Stevens served 10 years of a 15-years-to-life sentence for a low level nonviolent drug offense under the draconian Rockefeller Drug Laws. He was sent to a maximum security prison while struggling with a debilitating disease, Muscular Dystrophy (MD). While incarcerated, Stevens suffered years of physical abuse and exploitation by the penal system, despite being virtually paralyzed from the neck down. Since his release he has been a steadfast activist for reforming drug laws and helped pave the way, along with other activists to legalize cannabis that we enjoy today.

A recipient of the prestigious echoing green fellowship, he has dedicated his life to creating positive change. He has reached back to rescue many silent casualties, serving children whose parents were disproportionately impacted by the war on drugs, through his philanthropic foundation.
