Founded in 2018, Freshly Baked Company is a Massachusetts-based cannabis brand proudly veteran-owned, minority-owned, and woman-led. Our company was born from purpose — and built by two disabled war veterans who found healing through cannabis and sought to help others do the same.
Co-founders Philip Smith, an Iraq combat Marine, and Jenny Roseman, a U.S. Air Force veteran and 9/11 first responder at the Pentagon, discovered firsthand how cannabis helped them manage PTSD related to their service. Inspired by that experience, they launched Freshly Baked with the goal of providing high-quality, legal cannabis to those seeking relief, wellness, and connection.
At Freshly Baked, we’re committed to crafting premium cannabis products that are flavor-forward, terpene-rich, and reliably effective — while honoring our roots in service and our dedication to community. We proudly serve cannabis consumers across Massachusetts with 1g disposable vapes, strain-specific 510 cartridges, and whole bud pre-rolls, available through both licensed dispensaries and compliant home delivery partners.

January 2019: Freshly Baked Company entered into a Host Community Agreement with the City of Taunton in Massachusetts
February 19, 2019: Freshly Baked submitted their full completed package to the CCC for review
June 1, 2019: Philip Smith was accepted into the states Social Equity program
June 20, 2019: Freshly Baked Company received a positive recommendation from the Taunton City Planning Board
July 30, 2019: Freshly Baked Company received their Special Permit from the City of Taunton
January 8, 2020: Freshly Baked Company’s application was deemed complete by the CCC
March 5, 2020: Freshly Baked Company received their provisional license from the CCC
July 28, 2020: Freshly Baked Company’s Delivery Endorsement was deemed complete by the CCC
August 25, 2020: Freshly Baked Company received their special permit for delivery from the City of Taunton
October 27th, 2020: Freshly Baked Company received its final municipal manufacturing license from the great city of Taunton
December 15th, 2020: Freshly Baked Company received its Delivery Endorsement from the City of Taunton
January 14th, 2021: Freshly Baked Company received its Final License from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission
